Maria Diletta Rondoni | Episode 887

Maria Diletta Rondoni is an Italian artist based in Umbria, Italy. After graduating at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia in 2012-majoring in painting–her artistic research explored possibilities from different materials, such as ceramic, metal working, and glass. Maria Diletta focused her interest in clay taking ceramics classes in Deruta where she learned ancient techniques such as Etruscan bucchero and terra sigillata. In 2017 Maria Diletta studied porcelain techniques at the Ceramic Art School “Romano Ranieri” in Deruta and at the FACC-Faenza Art Ceramic Center, Faenza, Italy. Over the last few years Maria Diletta traveled to Europe, Sri Lanka, and Australia. These travels inspired her aesthetic vision. Maria Diletta’s artworks belong to private collections in Italy and abroad.

Curious Clay, founded by Jannalyn Bailey, was born out of an intense love of the handmade form and the desire to make attainable art objects. As a former painter, the presence of the artist’s hand in Jannalyn’s works is very important to her. Both the clay form and the glaze application retains the gesture from Jannalyn’s hand.  Being somewhat self-taught, Jannalyn’s work is primarily slab-built with some element of hand forming/sculpting.  Jannalyn hopes her works can live in new homes, and be a part of the slower moments in the day, whether it’s your morning cup of coffee or afternoon meditation.  Jannalyn finds great joy in creating one of a kind pottery, and her hope is that that joy comes through.

Nicole Pangas is a full time artist and studio potter living and working in Detroit, Michigan. Nicole has been a studio artist for over 30 years, and an Etsy Seller since 2010. Nicole earned her BFA in ceramics, printmaking, and painting from The Cleveland Institute of Art. Nicole studied drawing and ceramics at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and stone carving, poetry, and photography at the LaCoste School of Arts in LaCoste, France. Nicole moved to Detroit after her studies to become Artist-in-Residence at Pewabic Pottery where she also worked as master potter and ceramics instructor. Nicole’s work has encompassed the realms of printmaking, painting, collages, handmade tiles, sculpture, pottery, and drawing. Nicole was introduced to art first as a draftsman while in high school. She found her love of clay as an art major at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

Paulina has graduated from Sculpture Faculty, The Academy of the Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2015.  Paulina recently built her own wood-fired kiln.
