Clark County Open Studios | Episode 1080

Clark County Open Studios is a juried show that takes place throughout Clark County in Southwest Washington. Each year 50 artist are chosen to participate along with 3 emerging artists. This year my wife, Jennifer and I were accepted into the show along with a number of other ceramic artists. Jennifer and I hosted an “after party” with a few of the other ceramic artists to talk about the event.  Below are the artists we talked with for this episode. I asked these two questions: What is one thing that you will do next year if you are juried back in and what is one thing that you won’t be doing again next year?

The Potters Cast | Episode 1000

1,000 episodes! When The Potters Cast first started I had no idea that we would ever get to this many episodes. But here we are… episode number 1,000. And there is nothing but thanks in my heart for all the love and support. In celebration we are doing two things… First my wife, Jennifer and I jumped on a couple of mics and Jennifer interviewed me. So I’ll put a of pic of my work below. The second thing we did was that we asked people to record a message for The Potters Cast. So below I included links to their IG accounts (the ones that I could) and picture of their work. A huge thank you to all of you for being a part of this incredible journey. Lots of love to you.

Paul Blais | Episode 300

The mic gets turned around in this special episode of The Potters Cast: Some member of The Potters Business Mastermind interview me, Paul Blais. This is in celebration of hitting episode 300 and in honor of such a great accomplishment I asked for some volunteers from the mastermind group to spend some time with me on Google Hangouts and do a special edition for The Potters Cast. It was a lot of fun spending this special time with them and I am really happy to be able to share it with you. Our interviewers are Elizabeth Borowsky, Carly Gibran, Kathleen Blohm, and Bebe Federman.

Today’s show is all about growing your pottery business.

Key Idea

Get in front of the money.

Traditional Approach

The traditional approach to a pottery business has been weekend sales at your local farmer’s markets or craft fairs. You may have even had the option of doing your own studio sales. All of these, and few more, are still options today, but they are also very limited in their reach. You can only reach the people Continue reading

Paul Blais | Episode 1

Because this is me, Paul Blais giving an introduction to the show, I thought I would take a moment and introduce myself here on the website also. I am a hobby potter that totally loves clay. I also love people and talking. I also am a podcaster for another show called Doubt The Doubts (www.DoubtTheDoubts.com). I’ve been wanting to serve the pottery/ceramic community for a log time with a podcast thatContinue reading
