Before you “took off ” on Instagram what kind of promotions were you doing for your business?

Kat: Well as everyone knows the algorithms change but we were promoting on Facebook.

Like paid promotions?

Yes. Absolutely. We would find a post that seemed to have a lot of hits, people really liked, and then we would promote it.

Why did you end up changing from doing the paid promotions to tackling this more organically?

Kat: Well, I am kind of the social media person out of the two of us so I managed the feed  and I noticed a new feature on Instagram called Reels. And it says right on them that they will be shared with explore to anyone and everyone and that was free.

Did you see an instant bump in outreach when you started putting Reels out?

Harry: Yeah, I think we did. We have put a lot of Reels out with Kat cutting tile and doing the techniques with her glazing and detailing. Plus we did some Reels of me grouting some of the tables and we got a lot of great feedback on some of those.

Did you see a sudden rise in followership as a result?

Absolutely. We put out a lot of Reels. We tried one a day for a week or two. But initially just pure luck, a couple of our really colorful tables had really sudden big numbers and I can’t control it. Once they are out away they go and I think it just built from there.

Did the bigger followership result in more sales?

Harry: Yeah, definitely. It’s just a matter of numbers. How many people see your artwork and right now we have a lot of custom orders in fact we are pretty much buried in custom orders right now. We did, we got a lot of response from all of that, yeah.

Do you also do standard posts where it is just a photo?

Kat: Yes, I mean they are not lying when they say the more you post the better your numbers will be. So I try and do a story. I try ad do a Reel. And then if there are photos that have a better frame then I will do a post, but Reels are definitely my favorite.

Harry: We also did a couple of giveaways if you remember.

Kat: Yes, so a big thing is giveaways. We did one at 5 thousand, one at fifteen thousand, and one at twenty-five thousand. So, yes, stay tuned there will be another at thirty-five thousand.

What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?

Kat: I don’t think we can say that on this podcast. (laughter)

Harry: We have a great environment here and in our backyard we have a place we call the Cosmic Pavilion.

Kat: Harry built it out of steal.

Harry: On a summer night with a little campfire going and all the lights on sitting out in the Cosmic Pavilion right here on Rocky Canyon Road is about my favorite thing to do.

Kat: Mine as well. That’s why we don’t go out and do anything else anymore. We love where we are and what we are doing.
